FAQ

How do I wash and dry the Sucker collection of towels?

First off, it is critical to note that Microfiber towels do not like heat. Wash the Sucker only when it is dirty and only with other Sucker towels (do not mix with other textiles or clothes). If it is just wet, simply hang dry. We often use the Sucker to dry our cars on many occasions before it really needs a wash. A little bit of care will go a long way!

Easy wash and dry suggestion: Wash in the washing machine with cold water and a dedicated microfiber detergent (e.g. Micro Restore). Do not use laundry detergents or fabric softeners. We recommend air drying the Sucker (which could take a day or two). If waiting a day or two is not an option, use the dryer but ensure it is on a low heat setting (preferably lowest heat setting). Do not use dryer sheets. Anything above 140 degrees Fahrenheit will wreck your Sucker towels.

Meticulous wash and dry suggestion: Wash in cold water using one part white vinegar and one part dedicated microfiber detergent (Micro Restore). Hand wash the towels and air dry.

How do I wash and dry my Luxury Microfiber towels?

First off, it is critical to note that Microfiber towels do not like heat. See separate FAQ regarding washing and drying the Sucker collection of towels.

Microfiber care is a big deal and a lot of people do not understand how. You can definitely reuse your towels after a wash. The only towels you should not reuse are towels that you level a ceramic coating with or where you have used harder chemicals. The ceramic coating will usually dry and crystallize on the towel and thus ruin the towel and harder chemicals can have a similar effect and take away that soft and plush feeling. Everything else can be reused. Eventually the nice towels will become ratty and they can be relegated to dirty jobs (tires or under the hood).

Easy wash and dry suggestion: Wash in the washing machine with cold water and a dedicated microfiber detergent (e.g. Micro Restore). You should wash similar types of microfiber towels together, similar colors should be washed together, and avoid mixing really dirty towels with those that are just slightly dirty. Do not use laundry detergents or fabric softeners.

What are the key steps to a rinse-less bucket wash?

These are the 7 steps we follow to get the most out of a rinse-less bucket wash while also ensuring you preserve the quality of your Luxury Microfiber towels:

  1. Add Revive to a bucket of water: 2 capfuls with 2-3 gallons of water.
  1. Submerge a few plush microfiber towels (we recommend the Jack towel, but can also use Mule or Big Daddy) in the solution.
  1. Pre-rinse the section you want to clean first with Revive solution (same dilution ratio as the bucket of water step). Marolex sprayers are great for this and ensure you spray liberally.  If crazy dirty, you will need the assistance of a wash pad or wash mitt during this step before you use your Jack’s from the bucket.
  1. Take a Jack towel from the bucket and wring it out a little, then fold into fourths. Start wiping and flipping to a fresh side of the towel. Use about one towel per panel or side (depending on the size of your car), constantly turning and flipping to a new side till all sides are soiled. Discard the towel into another bucket or bag to be cleaned later. Never ever return a dirty towel to the bucket of fresh towels and solution.
  1. Dry section with the Sucker (best choice) or Big Daddy or your choice of drying aid and a drying towel.
  1. Repeat steps 3 through 5 until the entire car is clean and all towels are used.
  1. Use this same process on the wheels but with wheel towels (we recommend Mule or heavily used microfiber towels) instead of your nice paint towels.

How should I store my Luxury Microfiber towels?

Storage is important because microfiber attracts and holds onto loose particles, contaminates, and dust. It is important to try and keep them isolated from the rest of your garage or work space. We suggest keeping them in a closed clean cabinet dedicated to your towels or using sealed plastic containers.

What is the difference between Armor and Kingsguard?

Both are sealants/toppers that can be used together or as standalone products. If used together, first apply Armor, wait 1-2 hours, and then apply Kingsguard.

Is Armor or Kingsguard right for me?

If your car is coated or maintained with any SiO2 based products, we recommend you use Armor. If you do not have a coating or previously used any ceramic based products, you can apply Kingsguard directly after washing your car to give you extreme shine, gloss and durability.

If you live in extreme or harsh weather conditions, below 10 degrees Fahrenheit or over 95 degrees Fahrenheit, we recommend the gold standard, which is to use Armor and Kingsguard together. This combination will make cleaning easier and help protect your paint from looking dull.

What is Shield Pro? Where can I use it?
